Curriculum

Each child is special and respected as God’s unique creation. Children learn in many different ways, so our curriculum is geared to varying learning styles and takes into consideration each child’s level of development.  Our classroom curriculum is theme-based, with themes typically lasting one to two weeks. General theme areas include; science and nature, social sciences, literacy and language, history, art, music, holidays, and many others. The themes are explored through art projects, story time, songs, games, and interest centers.

At Newport Covenant Christian Preschool, we use the children’s day-to-day interactions to help them grow in their social skills.  Important skills like sharing, waiting your turn, following directions, completing your work, making friends and conflict resolution are nurtured every day as the teachers interact with the children.
